DNS and MX Hosting
Both primary and secondary DNS hosting is available.
A fully automated DNS hosting service is in the planning and should be available within the next few weeks. This system will allow us to provide fully automated primary or secondary DNS hosting for your site.
Do I need a Secondary DNS?
Yes, you have to have a secondary DNS configured for your domain. This is a requirement of the registration process. Some registrars will automatically provide the service for you, making it appear that there isn’t a seco
ndary. It is advisable that your secondary DNS server is not physically located on the same network as your primary. This is to cater for network outages etc.
MX Hosting
Mail Exchange records are DNS records that tell mail servers on the internet where to deliver your mail. All the MX records for your domain are tried in preference order until one of those servers accepts your mail.
I can provide primary or secondary MX hosting for you also, either being the primary place your mail is accepted, or a backup in case your mail server goes down. If your mail server goes down, mine will continue to accept mail for you and deliver it to you once your mail server is back up.
